About Me

I have been practicing insight (Vipassana) meditation since 2002. I am trained in Jason Siff’s Recollective Awareness approach to meditation. I am corresponding secretary of Tri-State Dharma, Cincinnati, Ohio. I was also co-founder and co-teacher, with Mary Ellen Landolina, of Tri-State’s Northern Kentucky meditation group. I completed the Community Dharma Leaders program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, California, a two-year training program for Buddhist Theravada teachers. I have a Ph.D. in archaeology and environmental science, have done research in Arctic Alaska for over 30 years, and am professor emeritus at the University of Cincinnati.

Recollective Awareness

I am accepting students who are interested in learning about Recollective Awareness, a meditation practice developed by Jason Siff. I invite you to give it a try if you’re interested.  You can learn more about Recollective Awareness by reading Jason’s book: Unlearning Meditation.
